摘要: OBJECTIVES: Prism Adaptation (PA) is a technique used in the rehabilitation of unilateral spatial neglect. Several researchers have reported positive results on number tasks, but negative outcomes also been reported. These conflicting could be due to use prisms different power. The aim this study was investigate amplitude and duration aftereffect induced by power measures series single cases METHODS: Five neglect patients ten control subjects participated study. adaptation evaluated with Subjective Straight Ahead (SSA), Open-Loop Pointing (OLP) Line Bisection (LB) immediately before prism adaptation, after, 10/60 minutes after adaptation. procedure repeated 5, 10 20 prismatic diopters ( ). RESULTS: OLP task provided most sensitive for size aftereffect. proved effective inducing an immediate aftereffect, while 5 seemed last longer. CONCLUSION: We showed that assessing PA effect are relevant variables consider clinical practice rehabilitation.
