摘要: A method of monitoring (200) an optical fibre comprises modulating (210) signal with a traffic signal; (220) the incoherent frequency domain reflectometry, IOFDR, test transmitting (230) doubly modulated onto at first end fibre; detecting (240) scattered radiation output from and analysing (250) detected using reflectometry to determine distance break in fibre. Apparatus suitable for carrying out is also described, as well communications network employing method.
