Anticonvulsant Activity of the Aqueous Leaf Extract Of Croton Zambesicus (Euphorbiaceae) In Mice and Rats

摘要: To determine the anticonvulsant activity of leaf extract Croton zambesicus in mice and rats, order to verify traditional use plant treatment epilepsy. The pentyleneterazole (PTZ) maximal electroshock seizure (MES) models were used for assessing effects aqueous rats. In PTZ test, (1000-2000 mg/kg p.o.) produced a significant (P < 0.05) increase onset seizures rats compared with control group. (1500 2000 (42.9%) protection while (1000 (71.4%) against PTZ-induced convulsion mice. MES (500-1500 ( P At also MES-induced convulsions results obtained from this study indicate that may be beneficial both absence tonic clonic seizures.
