摘要: The ethanolic root extract of Croton zambesicus was investigated for its potential to protect gastric mucosa against ulcers induced by indomethacin, ethanol and reserpine. anticonvulsant activity the pentylene tetrazol (PTZ)- picrotoxin-induced convulsion in mice also studied. (27-81 mg/kg) produced a significant (P<0.005-0.001) dose-dependent effects ulcerogenic effect different agents used; lower than that standard drug, cimetidine (100 indomethacin reserpine-induced ulcer models higher propranolol (40 ethanol-induced model. could not from both PTZ--and convulsion. significantly (P<0.01-0.001) delayed onset latency caused PTZ picrotoxin. possesses antiulcer properties.
