摘要: Breathing is a bilaterally synchronous behavior that relies on respiratory rhythm generator located in the brainstem. An essential component of this preBotzinger complex (preBotC), which paces inspirations. Little known about developmental origin interneuronal populations forming preBotC oscillator network. We found homeobox gene Dbx1 controls fate glutamatergic interneurons required for generation mouse embryo. also conditional inactivation Dbx1-derived cells roundabout homolog 3 (Robo3) gene, necessary axonal midline crossing, resulted left-right de-synchronization oscillator. Together, these findings identify as core rhythmogenic elements and indicate Robo3-dependent guidance signaling activity.
