摘要: This paper shows the importance of including region-specific circumstances in long-term climate change mitigation strategies, by example a modeling exercise transport sector. Important emission reduction options sector include biofuels, electric vehicles and efficiency standards. The most effective combination these depends, among others, on availability effectiveness standards, (expected) intensity power sector—all which differ between regions. Differences policies regions influence factors. For instance, fuel standards slowdown transition where plugin hybrid cars compete with gasoline (such as USA or Europe) decreasing costs for driving therefore fact increase emissions. Another is that promoting less are expected to rely heavily fossil fuels generation, such South Africa, China India. Based findings from TIMER energy model, we introduce an indicative framework assessing strategies up 2050, different ambition levels policy.
