摘要: About 2% of the genome Mycobacterium leprae is composed repetitive DNA. There are more than 26 extinct IS elements together with four families dispersed repeats, present in five copies or more, RLEP (37 copies), REPLEP (15 LEPREP (eight and LEPRPT (five copies). Although there no sequence similarity to known transposable elements, occurs predominantly at 3'-end genes and, several cases, within pseudogenes, suggesting that it was capable dissemination. Strikingly, on comparison sequences M. closely related tubercle bacillus, tuberculosis H37Rv, many these were found sites discontinuity gene order. Evidence presented loss synteny, inversion downsizing may have resulted from recombination between elements.
