摘要: Steroid hormones originate in man from the C27 steroid, cholesterol. In steroidogenic tissues (adrenal cortex, gonads, placenta, etc.), cholesterol side chain is removed and C21 progestagens, corticosteroids, C19 androgens C18 oestrogens are successively formed. The active steroid secreted into blood carried to their site or sites of action, bound either a specific binding globulin (e.g. sex hormone globulin, cortisol-binding globulin) non-specifically albumin. peripheral they further metabolised, as result which inactivated. some tissues, metabolism required transform an metabolite (i.e. testosterone reduced 5α-dihydrotestosterone prostate aromatised oestradiol pituitary), after for inactivation. Inactive metabolites then lost, predominantly urine, but also faeces. Some may occur during entero-hepatic circulation.
