摘要: Background: Computed tomography (CT) is commonly used to evaluate the degree of sinus involvement in cases inverted papilloma (IP). However, CT cannot differentiate tumor from adjacent inflammatory mucosa or retained secretions. By contrast, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been reported be useful distinguishing IP paranasal sinusitis. This study investigated whether preoperative assessment with MRI and accurately predict extent IP.1) Materials methods: were retrospectively reviewed 9 IP. Patients categorized into stages based on findings, according staging system proposed by Krouse. The each was also assessed. Results: Differentiation disease may more successful routine where low signal intensity T1-weighted images very high T2-weighted images. could not Conclusion: Preoperative can location sinuses sometimes predicts malignant changes.
