摘要: Omani society has a long tradition of consanguinity, which goes back to preIslamic times. The aim the present study was determine prevalence consanguineous marriage and mean coefficient inbreeding in Oman. Consanguinity rates among 60 635 couples (20.8% national population childbearing age) were determined on basis questionnaire major delivery units. In this large survey, included all sections community, 24.1% marriages reported between first cousins 11.8% second cousins. addition, further 20.4% contracted within specific tribal groupings.
