摘要: Special percussive mechanisms, e.g. Auto Gopher and Ultra Sonic/Sonic Driller/Corer (USDC) have been developed by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Honeybee Robotics Spacecraft Mechanisms Corporation to explore the Lunar, Martian, other planetary subsurface extract soil (regolith)/rock samples for further study. The mechanism consists of an ultrasonic horn, a free mass (hammer) drill rod. This paper presents analytical methodology analyze dynamic contact analysis longitudinal impact rod including effects structural vibration. force due is obtained using Hertz force-indentation relation coupled with vibration mode superposition method. Numerical solution, equilibrium iterations, equations motion implemented. was observed follow sinusoidal like shape, consistent results available in literature similar problems.
