摘要: Planetary drilling and soil/rock sample acquisition is a vital task in the challenge for space exploration as it provides information about chemical composition of planetary body its mechanical behavior. The special ultrasonic percussive drill considered this study consists an horn, free mass bit/rod. impact between (striker) rod analyzed by means modified Hertz force-indentation relation to include plastic deformation coupled with structural vibration obtained using mode superposition method. contact force rods different yield strengths compared that elastic case. It observed when considered, smaller, larger duration, than case rod. As strength increased, increases duration decreases, approaching results also thatThe rebound velocity elasto-plastic lower impact.
