摘要: Forecasting and planning for inventory management has received considerable attention from the Operational Research (OR) community over last 50 years because of its implications decision making, both at strategic level an organization operational level. Many influential contributions have been made in this area, reflecting different perspectives that evolved divergent strands literature, namely: system dynamics, control theory forecasting (both statistical judgemental). Although pluralism is healthy terms knowledge advancement, it also signifies fragmentation OR discipline lack cross-fertilization ideas to develop more comprehensive approaches towards resolution same issues. In paper, relevant literature reviewed synthesized promote some convergence between these planning. The review concludes with inter-disciplinary agenda further research.
