摘要: Background  Bedside clinical teaching, an essential component of training, was widely practised during the 1960s and early 1970s but has since declined substantially. Objective  To highlight importance bedside giving examples its significance, to discuss factors that have led decline. Design  Review style. Main findings There is much can be gained from teaching at bedside. It allows trainees learn professionalism grasp principles communication with real patients. Unfortunately, medical profession, like other fields endeavour, been invaded by computer technology. This a decline in frequency thus inflicted serious damage on attainment skills young doctors, despite their continuing interest teaching. Moreover, increasing clinical, administrative research duties senior doctors further contributed this decline. Conclusion  Every effort should made reinstate as leading training.
