摘要: Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy and the incidence of this disease increasing. Approximately 50% patients with colorectal die from recurrent following an apparently curative resection primary tumour liver most frequent site relapse. Although only small proportion will benefit metastases, form treatment offers possibility cure. In selected patients, 5-year survival rates 25-35% may be achieved resection. A poor prognosis after hepatic metastases likely when there are more than three metastatic deposits, involved margins often as result ?wedge' resections, extrahepatic disease, or nodal involvement at site. Regional artery infusion chemotherapy provide palliation possibly even prolongation for some unresectable metastases. Cytoreductive techniques also in unsuitable resection; cryotherapy promising these methods.
