摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Gochnatia polymorpha ssp. floccosa is used in folk medicine to treat inflammation and infections. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the most commonly consumed medications during pregnancy women with inflammatory diseases. However, relationship between use of NSAIDs risk miscarriage birth defects and/or benefits not fully understood. Thus, an investigation regarding gestation for developing safe pregnancy. Materials methods The pregnant females were randomly divided into 5 groups. Control group received a hydroalcoholic solution (1.2%), via gavage, at least 15 days prior mating throughout gestational period. pre-treatment ethanol extract (GPEE), dose 100 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) up appearance vaginal plug. organogenesis GPEE (b.w.), on 5–15th gestacional day. period (from 1st 18th day pregnancy). pre+pregnancy entire clinical signals maternal toxicity teratogenesis evaluated. Additional assays evaluate chronic inflammation, antigenotoxicity immunomodolatory activity performed. Results conclusions results indicated that does interfere reproductive performance or embryo-fetal development but correlate reduced fetal length. was teratogenic mutagenic immunomodulator. did exhibit effective activity. Based this study, it can be inferred important, agent according experimental design we utilized, which opens possibilities bioprospecting new phytotherapy
