Coronary angioplasty for acute mitral regurgitation due to myocardial infarction. A nonsurgical treatment preserving mitral valve integrity.

摘要: Three patients presented to the cardiac catheterization laboratory with myocardial infarction, severe mitral regurgitation, and pulmonary edema. Two were in cardiogenic shock at time of catheterization. Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty was done on occluded artery all three resolution edema as well auscultative evidence regurgitation. The mean wedge pressure dropped from 34 10 mm Hg these patients. Mean follow-up 11.7 months showed no clinical heart failure, angina pectoris, or
