摘要: Abstract Drug allergy is the third most common reason for consultations. There a tendency to call any adverse drug reaction (ADR) allergic, even without confirmatory study. Objectives (1) Evaluate time of resolution beta-lactam's study in sample 100 patients. (2) Analyse cost-effectiveness current diagnostic (skin tests, specific IgE and provocation test (DPT)). (3) Describe type frequency ADRs adult/paediatric (4) Compare cost complete with DPT. (5) Assess need restructure methodology according results obtained. The part strategic plan department (2005–2010). Patients suspected beta-lactams were included. Procedures performed: medical history, IgE, skin tests Cost/patient analysis. Cost protocol analysis diagnostic/direct Results patients studied, 52 females/48 males; 43 children/57 adults. Symptoms: 89 cutaneous, 4 anaphylaxis, 3 vasovagal reactions, 6 non-specific symptoms not recalled. Allergy was confirmed six (only one child). Complete-study cost: 149.3 Euros/patient. DPT-study 97.19 Euros/patient (34.9% less). Resolution 9–13 months, absenteeism 28.04%. Conclusions In series diagnosis 6% (2.3% paediatric patients). After analysing we believe that should propose algorithm those IgE-mediated ADR, direct DPT be conducted. This will reduce cost/patient (−34.9%), absenteeism.
