Pediatric Allergy Immunology 2011; 22: 405–410. Abstract Background:  is often based on history alone. But such a vague diagnosis may cause limitations therapeutic options the future. confirm or rule out hypersensitivity, skin testing, vitro studies, challenge tests are necessary. However, diagnostic value complex time-consuming allergologic work-up, especially children, remains controversial. Objective:  Aim retrospective analysis was to compare testing adolescents with diagnosed clinical grounds, i.e., temporal relationship observation symptoms alone. Methods:  We studied 43 (23 females, 20 males, mean age 13) immediate delayed relation treatment using standardized followed by oral challenges. Patients suspected penicillin were further evaluated tests. Results:  Drug excluded 40 patients tolerated incriminated drug. In two patients, positive confirmed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory hypersensitivity. One patient amoxicillin-associated exanthema developed late test reactions aminopenicillins. Conclusion:  childhood adolescence, cases importance both establish correct prevent unjustified withholding class drugs.
