摘要: Objective: This investigation examined the physiological and biochemical changes in pregnant rats following treatment with nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, L nitroarginine methyl ester (L-NAME). Methods: Pregnant non-pregnant animals were administered L-NAME, blood pressure proteinuria monitored. On day 21 of pregnancy, euthanized, fetal placental weight number recorded. Placental tissues homogenized assayed for lipid peroxides, protein carbonyls, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase. Results: Significant increases pressure, urinary concentrations, reduced pup weights observed treated L-NAME.
