摘要: Objective: This investigation examined the physiological and biochemical changes in pregnant rats following treatment with nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, L nitroarginine methyl ester (L-NAME). Methods: Pregnant non-pregnant animals were administered L-NAME, blood pressure proteinuria monitored. On day 21 of pregnancy, euthanized, fetal placental weight number recorded. Placental tissues homogenized assayed for lipid peroxides, protein carbonyls, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase.
