Signal identification for emerging intelligent radios: classical problems and new challenges

摘要: Signal identification, which initially found applications in electronic warfare and spectrum monitoring surveillance, has been recently considered for commercial communications the context of software defined cognitive radios. In this article, I present a snapshot status signal identification algorithms, starting from general description maximum likelihood (ML) feature based (FB) approaches to more detailed discussion practical methodology using cyclostationarity-based features. discuss features various signals criteria decision their while considering classical problems identifying single carrier linearly digitally (SCLD) modulated signals, as well new challenges posed by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), SC domain equalization (SC-FDE), multiple-transmit antenna signals. conclude article with remarks on solutions open research issues.
