Martensitic transformations in β Ag-cd alloys

摘要: Phase transformations have been studied inβ Ag-Cd alloys lying in the composition range 42.3 to 50.9 at. pct Cd. Thermal martensite with an orthorhombic structure was obtained on cooling below room temperature. The Ms temperature found change from —44° — 137°C as cadmium content changed 44.2 Cd 47.0 had a habit plane close (133)β good agreement that calculated phenomenological theory assuming (011) [0•11]β lattice-invariant shear. An fct moderate degrees of deformation at This (110)β, again (110)[1•10]β On severe close-packed obtained, this being fcc up 45.5 Cd, hcp above 47.7 and mixture both 46.0 A spontaneous occur along thin edges perforated specimens used for electron microscopy. mechanism suggesting course transformation has proposed.
