摘要: The aim with this thesis was to assess the impact of prenatal ultrasound exposure on psychotic illness, childhood brain tumors (CBT) and school achievement, evaluate X-ray risk CBT.In a cohort study, children born in Malmo 1973-1978, where used routinely, were considered exposed (n=13, 212) at hospitals no use ultrasound, unexposed (n=357,733). Exposed men had tendency toward higher schizophrenia. For other psychoses there differences between groups. Other factors related place birth might have influenced results. In case control 1975-1984 diagnosis CBT (n=512), randomly selected (n=524) included. Exposure data from antenatal records completed information Medical Birth Register. We found overall increased for after exposure. When stratifying by histological subgroups, primitive neuroectodermal highest estimates. exposure, seen numbers examinations or gestational age substantial follow-up randomized trial scanning 1985-87, we assessed children’s grades when graduating primary (15-16 years age). performed analyses according randomization, second trimester any time during pregnancy. There performance boys girls randomization trimester. Boys fetal life reduced mean score physical education small, non-significant poor general.
