摘要: It has previously been demonstrated that plasma leptin correlates to body fat content. Increased content is accompanied by low insulin sensitivity, which compensated with increased secretion. We therefore studied whether levels of also correlate secretion and sensitivity in humans. Therefore, we examined the euglycemic-hyperinsulinemic clamp technique measured response intravenous arginine (5 g) at fasting 14 mmol/l glucose postmenopausal women. Percent was determined impedance measurements. Log significantly correlated percent (r = 0.84, P < 0.001). In women normal tolerance (n 36), partial correlation studies controlling for revealed significant correlations between log 0.39, 0.029), both 0.38 r 0.37, 0.036 both), potentiation arginine-stimulated 0.40, 0.025). contrast, impaired 17), these were not significant. Plasma did independently To study would be explained stimulating secretion, during hyperinsulinemic conditions (689 +/- 41 pmol/l), under euglycemia (5.0 mmol/l, n 10) hypoglycemia (2.5 7). However, conditions, unaltered. conclusion, 1) reflects 2) tolerance.
