摘要: Abstract The startup process of a high temperature latent heat thermal energy storage system assisted by finned pipes was studied numerically. A transient three-dimensional finite volume based model developed to simulate the charging phase change material with different configuration embedded pipes. melting modeled employing enthalpy-porosity technique. eutectic mixture sodium nitrate and potassium 220 °C enclosed vertical cylindrical container used as material. effects pipe arrangement quantities well influence natural convection on behavior were studied. results indicate that configurations integrated in have profound effect response system. Employing more decreases resistance within system, leading acceleration decrease base wall temperature. It also found inclusion transfer renders higher rate lower
