Numerical investigation of the performances of axial separation helical baffle heat exchangers

摘要: Abstract Axial separation is a novel baffle connection configuration of circumferential overlap helical heat exchangers which makes incline angle seriation possible. The adjacent plates are separated by sleeve tubes to form greater pitched helix for enhancing transfer under required pressure drop with the least number molds reducing manufacture cost. Numerical simulations flow and performances were conducted calculation results verified experimental ones. Performance investigation was on eight normal trisection schemes angles from 15° 23° five axial equivalent 17–22° using baffles. In scope average deviations coefficients drops respectively about −1.97% −8.11% per 1° deviation angle. baffles 21° 22° have values coefficient 1.21% 1.33% lower 4.96% 5.55% higher than those schemes. By adopting approach step can be extended 8°.
