Quality improvement of surface triangular mesh using a modified Laplacian smoothing approach avoiding intersection

摘要: We present a systematic procedure to improve the qualities of triangular molecular surface meshes and at same time preserve manifoldness. The utilizes an algorithm remove redundant points having three or four valences another smooth mesh using modified version Laplacian method without causing intersecting triangles. This approach can be effectively applied any manifold with arbitrary complex geometry. In this paper, tested are biomolecular exhibiting typically highly irregular results show that greatly improved manifoldness preserved. Compared original meshes, these directly boundary element simulations generation body-fitted volume Tetgen. has been incorporated into our generator, TMSmesh 2.0.
