摘要: Abstract We propose a new scanner for small animal Positron Emission Tomography (PET) based on stacks of double sided silicon detectors. Each stack is made 40 planar detectors with dimension 60×60×1 mm 3 and 128 orthogonal strips both sides to read the two coordinates interaction, third being detector number in stack. Multiple interactions are discarded by an exclusive OR applied between each plane In this way we achieve precise determination interaction point 511 keV photons. The reduced dimensions also improve solid angle coverage resulting high sensitivity. Preliminary results were obtained MEGA prototype tracker (11 Si layers), divided into 2 cm apart of, respectively, 5 6 layers, placing spherical 22 Na source different positions. report results, spatial resolution, imaging timing performances detectors, manufactured ITC-FBK, having active area 3×3 cm 2 , thickness 1 mm strip pitch 500 μ m . Two widths 300 200 equipped 64 p n opposite out VATAGP2.5 ASIC, 128-channel “general purpose” charge sensitive amplifier.
