摘要: Infrared absorption spectra were observed with radiation polarized linearly along each of the two extinction axes contained in a thin cross section from single crystal benzene grown especially for this purpose. The indicate consistently that was 010 plane, they record separately absorptions a‐axis and c‐axis, respectively. anisotropies induced exhibited by five fundamental molecular vibrations (ones appear only condensed phases) are all quite similar may even be identical. It thus appears motions, super‐imposed upon several intrinsic ones perturbing intermolecular interactions, have property similarity independent differing natures motions being perturbed.
