摘要: This paper explores the determinants of preference for contingent employment using a national probability sample temporary workers and independent contractors. A multi-level model multivariate analyses indicate that opportunity cost contract work, number job opportunities, prior experience, human financial capital, access to health benefits, work-family factors predict employment. These results are moderated by gender type work arrangement. Temporary differ from contractors men women with respect which associated preference. The implications organization resource policy social discussed.
