摘要: Abstract Sea-level rise (SLR) has increasingly manifested the need for adaptation in United States (US) coastal areas. Few empirical studies have investigated extent of local SLR and adaptive capacity on a national scale. To address this research gap, I conducted survey among 231 localities US obtained 86 individual copies surveys, with response rate 37.2%. then employed multivariate regression models to examine relationship between actions while controlling socioeconomic variations. Based results, find that, at nascent stage, are more actively investing planning than actions. Among actions, they generally preferred protection accommodation strategies those managed retreat. Localities sample reported medium low capacity, leadership, funding, staff, political environment being weakest elements. The results indicate that higher been implementing limited capacity. This provides first glance into sheds light plausible pathways building improving resilience through adaptation.
