Validation of the Voice Handicap Index: 10 (VHI-10) to the Brazilian Portuguese

摘要: PURPOSE: To validate the Voice Handicap Index - 10 (VHI-10) into Brazilian Portuguese and to check its psychometric measures. METHODS: The validation was performed following guidelines suggested by Scientific Advisory Committee of Medical Outcomes Trust. A hundred ten individuals participated, 60 with vocal complaint, 6 males 54 females, age ranging from 21 82 years; 50 without 44 18 87 years. procedures were a voice self-assessment VHI-10. For self-assessment, evaluated their quality means five-point scale: excellent, very good, fair poor. VHI-10 administered twice 30 complaint determine test-retest reproducibility. checking sensitivity, patients that underwent rehabilitation. RESULTS: validity determined comparing total score results. Individuals classified as poor had 28.2 (standard deviation=8). Internal consistence high values coefficient (p<0.001). Results showed level reproducibility (p=0.0114). Sensitivity demonstrated significant difference between pre post-rehabilitation results (p<0.005). CONCLUSION: is an instrument validated Portuguese, measures validity, reliability sensibility proven can be applied problems.
