摘要: Abstract For examination of the characteristics lentivirus-induced pulmonary disease in an animal model, neonatal lambs were given intratracheal injections high-and low-passage ovine lentivirus (OvLV) isolates. In 6 inoculated with OvLV or from lung lavage fluid, lesions lymphoid interstitial pneumonia (LIP) developed. none 7 a high-passage 4 control medium alone ultrafiltered fluid did develop. Systemic distribution was greater and development antibody more rapid OvLV, compared high passage OvLV. The number lymphocytes bronchoalveolar samples increased pneumonia. markedly accelerated, comparison previous reports experimentally induced sheep. lentivirus-inoculated developed comparable to associated acquired immunodeficiency syndrome other human benign disorders lung. Similarities between manifestations virologic properties T-cell lymphotropic virus III argue for relevance OvLV-induced as model retrovirus diseases. ability cause accelerated neonates may be due age-related susceptibility factors that enhance pathogenicity lentiviruses.
