Murine T lymphomas in which the cellular myc oncogene has been activated by retroviral insertion

摘要: Abstract The myc oncogene is implicated here in T lymphocyte neoplasia. Cloning revealed a retroviral insert 0.7–1.3 kb 5′ to c-myc two lymphomas induced by Soule murine leukemia virus and spontaneous lymphoma (Tikaut) of an AKR mouse, strain which leukemogenesis involves recombinant retroviruses (MCF viruses). tumor mRNAs appear normal but their level ∼5-fold higher than most lacking rearrangement. Since each would be transcribed away from , its activation cannot involve the promoter long terminal repeat (LTR) could reflect enhancer, like that demonstrated within LTR. Tikaut provirus has MCF-like env gene LTR sequence. inserts were found near seven 31 other lymphomas; lie 3′ five upstream are oriented . We conclude quarter retrovirus-induced probably via enhancer.
