摘要: Myelin lipids have long been thought to play intriguing roles in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). This review summarizes current understanding molecular basis MS with emphasis on the: (i.) physico-chemical properties, organization and accessibility their distribution within myelin multilayer; (ii.) characterization lipid structures, structure–function relationships relevant mechanisms, and; (iii.) immunogenic other features including mimicry, enzyme genetic knockouts, glycolipid-reactive NKT cells, monoclonal antibody-induced remyelination. New findings associate anti-lipid antibodies pathophysiological biomarkers suggest clinical utility.
