摘要: Time-structured genetic samples are a valuable source of information in population genetics because they provide several correlated observations the underlying evolutionary processes. In this paper we study basic properties variation time-structured as reflected genealogies relating individuals and number segregating sites observed. Our emphasis is on "measurably evolving populations" i.e. populations from which it possible to obtain that span significant interval time. We use results coalescent process derive samples. first section extend existing attain measures trees These include expected time most recent common ancestor, total branch length branches subtending only ancient individuals. The effect different sampling schemes latter measure studied. second special case where full sample consists group contemporary extant As regards case, present applications concerning probability distribution mutation unique shared between methodology presented here design interpretation DNA experiments. Furthermore, may be useful further development statistical tests e.g. dynamics selection, temporal information.
