摘要: PURPOSE AND METHODS To assess its vascular effects and safety, we used sodium methohexital (Brevital)--an ultrashort-acting barbiturate--as the provocative intraarterial agent in a series of 30 patients with arteriovenous malformations at 1% concentration doses less than 5 mg per injection. Digital imaging was performed just prior to after injections. RESULTS No angiographic or clinical evidence apparent vasospasm occurred trial population (66 pedicle injections patients). When functional tissue perfused 1-6 Brevital solution, altered neurologic status became immediately apparent, but cleared within 2 minutes all cases. None experienced either prolongation induced symptoms seizures suggest any adverse related crystallization injecting an alkaline solution cerebral circulation. CONCLUSION Though full circulation remain be elucidated, existing reports it is safe for use embolotherapy brain malformations.
