摘要: Even as modern energy-society relations have produced unprecedented economic growth, they ushered in a crisis of social inequality and ecologically unsustainable levels resource energy throughput. Despite the persistence these drivers impacts, conventional environmental responses interpret this insufficiently advanced modernity prioritize more growth efficient technology. This strategy represents very narrow engagement with values instead relies on technological optimism. It perpetuates detachment development planning from democratic deliberation about ends. As such, it is an important enabler crisis. In light, chapter identifies discusses alternatives strategies considers synergy between them. The discussed include DEFENDUS approach for planning, Human Development Capability Approach Sustainable Energy Utility institutional template.
