摘要: Two pantothenate-requiring mutants of Agrobacterium tumefaciens have been isolated. One them (strain WMP-1) is unusual in that growth levels equivalent to the parent strain are achieved only when medium additionally supplemented with aspartate or another compound related tricarboxylic acid cycle. Extracts cells grown on limiting were found contain four times more (14)C-pantothenate than those at optimal concentrations. This difference was both perchloric acid-soluble and -insoluble fractions, presumably coenzyme A pool acyl carrier protein, respectively. These findings discussed terms membrane integrity control fatty biosynthesis.
