摘要: Abstract In the last several years, significant work has been done studying hemoglobin (Hb) oxidative reactions and clearance mechanisms using both in vitro vivo model systems. One active research area involves study of molecular chaperones other proteins that are thought to mitigate toxicity acellular Hb. For example, plasma protein haptoglobin (Hp) pre-erythroid alpha-hemoglobin-stabilizing (AHSP) bind Hb alpha-subunits Hb, respectively, reduce these adverse effects. Moreover, there hemopexin alpha-1 microglobulin, which be involved with hemin degradation. These studies have coincided timely publication first crystal structure Hb-Hp complex. constructing this Forum, we invited a number researchers myoglobin (Mb) redox biochemistry, as well those who contributed fundamentally our knowledge Hp function. ...
