摘要: Water Management is facing major challenges due to increasing uncertainties caused by climate and global change and fast changing socio-economic boundary conditions. Adaptive management is advocated as a timely extension of IWRM cope with these challenges. aims at the adaptive capacity river basins based on profound understanding key factors that determine basin’s vulnerability. More attention has be devoted and managing transition from current regimes more that take into account environmental, technological, economic, institutional cultural characteristics river basins. The paper identifies for research practice how achieve this transition. The European project NeWater presented one approach where new scientific methods and practical tools are developed participatory assessment implementation water management. puts strong emphasis establishing science-policy dialogues at local, basin and global scales.
