摘要: Polypoid lesions of the gallbladder affect approximately 5% adult population. Most affected individuals are asymptomatic, and their polyps detected during abdominal ultrasonography performed for unrelated conditions. Although majority benign, most commonly cholesterol polyps, malignant transformation is a concern. The differentiation benign from can be challenging. Several features, including patient age, polyp size number, rapid growth important discriminating features between polyps. Based on evidence highlighted in this review, authors recommend resection symptomatic patients, as well asymptomatic over 50 years or those whose solitary, greater than 10 mm diameter, associated with gallstones serial ultrasonography. Novel imaging techniques, endoscopic enhanced computed tomography, may aid differential diagnosis these permit expectant management.
