摘要: Neurosensory disturbance (NSD) of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) is most common complication after bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) and distraction osteogenesis (DO) retrognathic mandible. It suggested that risk lower DO than BSSO. This retrospective study compared both techniques with regard to long-lasting NSD overall patient satisfaction. 91 patients (representing 182 IANs) were included, they completed a questionnaire underwent an objective neurosensory test. In BSSO-group (90 nerves), was reported in 27 cases (30%) versus 21 (23%) group (92 nerves). 39 (24 BSSO, 15 DO) lip, chin or both. Of these cases, 9 (5 4 objectively tested positive. The prevalence 8% BSSO 10% group. There no significant difference subjectively measured between groups. this seemed over-report findings. For procedures, satisfaction high.
