Smoking cessation and tobacco prevention in Indigenous populations

摘要: This article systematically reviews 91 smoking cessation and tobacco prevention studies tailored for Indigenous populations around the world, with a particular focus on Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander in Australia. We identified several components of effective interventions, including use multifaceted programs that simultaneously address behavioural, psychological biochemical aspects addiction, using resources culturally needs individual populations. Pharmacotherapy was when combined behavioural interventions health professional support, though it is generally underused clinical practice. From policy perspective, greater intensity, more components, were likely to be than those lower intensity shorter duration.
