摘要: The objective of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial effect plant-derived antimicrobials including trans-cinnamaldehyde (TC), eugenol, carvacrol, and thymol on major bacterial mastitis pathogens in milk. minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) aforementioned compounds Streptococcus agalactiae, dysgalactiae, uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli were determined. In addition, kinetics TC persistence activity milk over a period 2 wk investigated. All 4 molecules exhibited against 5 tested, but most effective killing bacteria. MIC MBC Staph. E. coli, Strep. uberis 0.1 0.45%, respectively, whereas that agalactiae dysgalactiae 0.05 0.4%, respectively. other 3 ranged from 0.4 0.8% 0.8 1.5%, time-kill assays, at reduced by 4.0 5.0 log(10) cfu/mL undetectable levels within 12 24 h, persisted for duration experiment (14 d) without any loss activity. Results suggest has potential be evaluated as an alternative or adjunct antibiotics intramammary infusion treat bovine mastitis.
