摘要: Recent advances in computer technology and water resource modeling, availability of real-time hydroclimatic data, improvements our ability to develop user-friendly graphical model interfaces have led significant growth the development application decision support systems ~DSSs! for systems. This study provides an example a DSS adaptive management reservoir system that drinking Boston metropolitan region. The uses framework link watershed models, hydraulic quality with linear nonlinear optimization algorithms. offers optimize daily weekly operations toward four objectives based on short-term climate forecasts: ~1! maximum quality, ~2! ideal flood control levels, ~3! optimum balancing, ~4! hydropower revenues. Case studies document value as enhancement current rule curve operations. shows simple tools, this case, familiar spreadsheet software, can be used improve efficiencies.
