摘要: It is believed that drug-induced rewarding effects play an important role in the development of substance dependence. Recently, berberine was reported to inhibit drugs abuse such as cocaine, morphine, and nicotine. Berberine also demonstrated modulate activity several neurotransmitter systems like, dopamine, nitric oxide, serotonin, NMDA, which are implicated ethanol. Hence, we hypothesized may ethanol-induced effects. Therefore, studied effect on locomotor sensitization, conditioned place preference (CPP), ethanol drinking mice. The results revealed acute administration (2.5, 5, 10 mg/kg, i.p.) dose dependently reduced stimulant expression sensitization Further, pretreatment with prior each ethanol, blocked well In another set experiment, treatment (5 induction CPP addition, these doses over water, but did not alter general reward. conclusion, present study attenuates mice could be attributed its neuro-modulatory action.
