摘要: This article sketches a picture of the self-employment sector in rural China and examines nature its emergence. Using randomly selected, nationally representative household-level data set that contains detailed information on household activities, this provides evidence although selfemployed enterprises are small, they have grown fast, operate as relatively complex businesses, perform well financially healthy way. These results, taken together with pattern emergence self-employed across China’s regions, reveal expansion is not symptomatic failing economy; instead it component dynamic development process characterizes during reform period.
