摘要: The marmosets and callimicos are a diverse group of primates distributed over much tropical South America, south the Amazon east Andes. All but three species endemic to Brazil. Given their small size ecological flexibility, these relatively resistant effects habitat fragmentation, although geographic ranges some make them vulnerable extensive loss, problem typical Atlantic Forest. For this reason, two – Callithrix aurita flaviceps currently considered endangered, remaining Forest endemics appear be extinction. consolidation forest, management marmoset metapopulations main priorities in biome. In Amazon, by contrast, while deforestation is still distant threat most species, recent discoveries have resulted an increasing number with ranges, which potentially localized concentrations human colonization. Recent trends indicate that true diversity Amazonian (possibly including Cebuella Callimico) unknown, further research necessary before conservation strategies can planned effectively. Overall, more data on biological, genetic characteristics all will required order guarantee long term.
