Relating Callous-Unemotional Traits to Physically Restrictive Treatment Measures Among Child Psychiatric Inpatients

摘要: We examined the association of callous-unemotional (C/U) traits with rates seclusion and restraint among a sample child psychiatric inpatients (N = 101). Analyses focused on incremental value C/U as predictor over above influence other risk factors for physically restrictive treatment measures found in previous research, including gender, age, verbal intelligence, ethnicity, diagnosis conduct disorder or an oppositional defiant disorder, maltreatment history, dimensions psychopathy (i.e., narcissism impulsivity). Results hierarchical multiple regressions indicated that younger age predicted rates, whereas only rates. The discussion these findings focuses necessity developing effective intervention programs inpatient children prominent traits, to help forestall dangerous behavior necessitates restraint.
